CH-47F CHINOOK

The Boeing CH-47F Chinook is one of the world’s most iconic aircraft and has long been the heavy-lift helicopter of choice for military forces around the world. Its tandem rotor configuration and advanced cargo-handling capabilities are uniquely suited to multi-domain operations.

Boeing Defence Australia has established a Chinook centre of excellence in Australia in support of the Australian Army and the Republic of Singapore Air Force fleets. Our investment in establishing a sovereign rotary-wing capability spanning training, maintenance, supply chain and engineering is vital to the long-term success of our customers’ helicopter operations.

Chinook Integrated Support Services

The Chinook is the largest helicopter in the Australian Army fleet. It has been vital to Australia’s military, peacetime and humanitarian efforts for 50 years, providing domestic and international support for missions from disaster relief and search and rescue to medical evacuation and military troop lift.

Boeing Defence Australia has been contracted since 2016 to deliver the Chinook Integrated Support Services Contract. Working in close partnership with the Australian Army, we deliver optimal sustainment solutions to meet fleet demands. Those services cover:

·       Pilot, aircrewman and aircrewman technician training, post-maintenance test flights and test pilot training for the Chinook Wing, School of Army Aviation; and aircraft maintenance and modifications and field service engineering support at the 5th Aviation Precinct, RAAF Base Townsville.

·       Program management support, supply chain and Original Equipment Manufacturer engineering support in Brisbane and Philadelphia.

·       Chinook technician training and training device maintenance at the Rotary-wing Aircraft Maintenance School at Swartz Barracks, Oakey.

·       Technical publications and engineering support to the Cargo Helicopter Management Unit at Enoggera Barracks, Brisbane.

Republic of Singapore Air Force Maintenance & Logistics Support Services
