Boeing in South Australia

An established presence in Australia’s defence state

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) opened its first South Australian office in 2015 to support the introduction into service of the RAAF’s Boeing-built P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.

Today, our expanded operations play a strategically important role for BDA nationally.

At RAAF Base Edinburgh, our employees support the RAAF’s Boeing P-8A Poseidon fleet, delivering project management, engineering, supply chain management, and aircraft maintenance and modification services.

In the Adelaide CBD, our team of engineers, technical experts and support staff work on a broad range of Boeing programs and platforms, including E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control, P-8A Poseidon New Zealand,  Battlespace Communication System and the Wakulda air battlespace management system.

We are also working with the South Australian government, local businesses and the education sector to further strengthen the state’s vibrant defence industry and grow Australia’s sovereign engineering and maintenance capability.

Our innovative supplier initiatives are offering South Australian businesses access to Boeing’s domestic and global supply chains, while our partnerships with the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia are helping to educate and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

We are also working with the federal and South Australian governments, other defence primes and registered training organisations on ways of generating a future aircraft maintenance workforce to support the growth on our P-8A contract over coming years.
