- Boeing Defence Australia to deliver LAND 4140 Beyond Line-of-Sight Class Two Satellite Communications
- Program is critical link in modernising the Australian Defence Force’s communications capabilities.
BRISBANE, Queensland, August 3, 2026 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] will deliver enhanced Beyond Line-of-Sight (BLOS) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) to strengthen connectivity, interoperability and decision advantage for the Australian Defence Force.
Under LAND 4140 BLOS SATCOM, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) will provide Defence with next generation Class Two SATCOM ground terminals to enable faster, uninterrupted and more reliable connectivity in increasingly complex and contested operational environments.
“Designed for the modern battlefield and drawing on BDA’s proven experience delivering enterprise-wide communications systems for Defence, this capability will connect Australia’s Integrated Force across multiple domains,” said Matt Buckle, BDA’s director of Joint Systems.
“Underpinned by high-speed, wideband SATCOM links, the advanced BLOS system will ensure uninterrupted data flow that allows the Australian Defence Force to connect when needed and operate with confidence when it matters most.”

BLOS Class Two SATCOM is the second contract BDA will deliver under Land 4140, having already been appointed systems integrator for LAND 4140 Battlefield Management System. Together, these capabilities will enable faster, more efficient processing of command and control, situational awareness and targeting information.
