Honouring 100 years of RAAF

For the past 100 years, the men and women of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) have taken to the skies to protect and serve Australia and its allies through wartime, peace keeping and humanitarian missions.

Boeing and its heritage companies have proudly partnered with the RAAF for much of the past century to help advance Australia’s air defences, working side-by-side to create next-generation products and services that help deliver transformational capabilities.

As we honour the remarkable achievements of the RAAF’s airmen and women, past and present, we reflect on our enduring partnership that has helped evolve the RAAF into the revolutionary, world-leading Air Force it is today.

RAAF 100 Years and Boeing Australia

Our enduring partnership

From the fighter bombers of World War II to the powerful intelligence, surveillance and combat platforms of the 21st century, Boeing remains ever-vigilant in advancing technology and capability to serve the men and women of the RAAF, all Australians and our allies. From the first Australian-built aircraft, the Wirraway, to the cutting edge Loyal Wingman, which is redefining the role of unmanned systems in future airborne missions, and our work on Air 6500, the RAAF’s Integrated Air Missile Defence system, we work together to reimagine aerospace.  In our rapidly changing threat environment, one thing remains steadfast: our shared commitment to collaborating, innovating and evolving for the next 100 years.

Delivering for the RAAF

Boeing Australia and our heritage companies - de Havilland Australia, Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation, Government Aircraft Factories, Department of Aircraft Production, and Aerospace Technologies of Australia - have been proudly delivering frontline, mission critical aircraft and systems to the RAAF for much of the past century.
